MARINE WILDLIFE VIEWING GUIDELINES
If you encounter whales, dolphins, porpoises:
- Be cautious and courteous.
- Slow down, reduce speed to less than 7 knots when within 400 meters of marine mammals.
- Keep clear of the marine mammals path, only approach from the side.
- Do not approach or position your vessel closer than 100 meters to any marine wildlife.
- Limit your viewing time to a maximum of 30 minutes.
- Do not swim with, touch or feed marine wildlife.
- Disturbing marine wildlife is a violation of the Fisheries Act- Marine Mammal Regulations.
These guidelines are designed to help you enjoy your wildlife encounter and reduce the risk of disturbing the marine wildlife.
